Reiki

Reiki is a method of spiritual hands-on healing. Reiki is the spiritual life-giving energy which permeates all the living beings. Reiki is a Japanese word made up of two syllables: "Rei", meaning "universal/spiritual" and "Ki", meaning "energy".

Reiki was discovered by a Japanese man named Mikao Usui in the 1920s. While studying Buddhist texts, he found mention of an ancient healing method, but didn't know how to unlock the spiritual energy required for performing such form of healing. So Usui decided to embark on a twenty-one day meditation retreat on the sacred Mount Kurama; while meditating, he was hit by a bright light from the sky, felt himself filled with spiritual energy and reached a sudden enlightenment. After this mystical experience, Usui developed Reiki.

Reiki is Pure Love and can enable bodily healing. Illness is a disharmony between the body and soul - Reiki can re-harmonize them, realizing a holistic wellness. What Reiki actually does is stimulating the body's self-healing ability.

In a typical Reiki healing session, the Reiki practitioner will place his hands mainly over the healee's areas corresponding to the Seven Major Chakras (Energy Centers along the body's central meridian line). Hands can be placed on the healee's body or above it, in the Aura (Energy Field surrounding the body). The Reiki practitioner is just a channel for Reiki, that will flow through his body, will reach his hands and from there will be transferred to the receiver's body, reaching all the areas wherever is needed and doing whatever is necessary.

Reiki can even be performed remotely through the means of a picture.

A full Reiki treatment will increase vitality, induce general relaxation, balance Chakras, enhance creativity, improve awareness, boost confidence, promote general well-being, aid in life purpose discovery, help in spiritual evolution.

Reiki is suitable for a wide range of conditions: anxiety, stress, sleep problems, low self-esteem, digestion issues, pain, negative thinking, anger, poor concentration, etc.

Even when a recovery is not possible, Reiki can still be a valid support in terms of relaxation and reduced pain.
